What is Perinatology (High Risk Pregnancy)?

Perinatology as a definition; risk assessment of patients before, during and after pregnancy, feto-maternal; that is, prenatal diagnosis of many fetal-mother-related diseases, treatment-follow-ups and, if necessary, implementation of invasive interventions, and completion of treatments during pregnancy, delivery and postpartum in risky or problematic pregnancies.

• Hypothyroidism - In cases of endocrine diseases such as hyperthyroidism, perinatology should be consulted.

- Problems Encountered During Pregnancy:

• Premature birth history
• Abnormal binary test result
• Abnormal triple test result
• Abnormal quad test result
• Gestational Diabetes (gestational diabetes)
• Growth retardation in the baby (developmental retardation)
• Preeclampsia (toxemia - pregnancy poisoning)
• Patients with abnormal findings detected in the baby
• Premature rupture of membranes (early water coming in)
• Twin pregnancies, triplets and other multiple pregnancies
• In cases of placenta previa, perinatology should be consulted.
