Medical pharmacology is a field that studies how drugs used in drug therapy affect people and their results. Pharmacology is a branch of science that examines the effects of other chemicals and drugs on living systems in all aspects. Pharmacological studies postulate the chemical mechanisms by which the functions of cells and systems are regulated, determine how drugs work, and discover new drugs for the prevention, treatment and diagnosis of diseases.

It covers responsibilities such as the development of new drug therapies for the treatment of diseases, the effects of these drugs on animals and humans, the delivery of correct and efficient drugs to patients, the minimization of the harm of drugs on the health of living things, the examination of chemical reactions caused by drugs and the biological examination of molecules.

In addition, since they have received a wide range of training, expert pharmacologists also produce useful results in the elimination of chemical substance, hormone problems and drugs.

What does a Medical Pharmacologist do?

Someone in the field of medical pharmacology: Decides which drugs to apply for which diseases. Investigates the effects of drugs on all systems by conducting experiments. It works with medical doctors and pharmacists to control drugs.

  • We can list the duties of pharmacologists as follows:
  • Investigation of the chemical and biological interactions of drug substances in the body, Investigation of the benefits / harms of drugs on animal and human health,
  • Conducting necessary experiments in cooperation with pharmacists and doctors,
  • Examining how drugs affect diseases,
  • Determination of drugs to be used against diseases,
  • Continuing the necessary studies for development in professional fields,
  • Ensuring the production of new and more effective drugs,
  • Determination of the drug doses to be mixed into the blood.
